Rare untouched 16th century manor

Rare brick manor house originating from the 17th century. This house hasn't been touched for 50 years. It is completely original which means, no electrics, no toilet and no bathroom but it also means lots of original details and crazy charm. The roof has been redone that is all.
The manor used to be the main house of a great farm owned by a senator of Saone and Loire, but its origins go back to the monks of the Abbey of Citeaux. Entrance to the plot by the farm to be renovated and its outbuidligns. This farm actually could be renovated into a 200m2 independent house.

The manor is entered by its main entrance which is located in the middle of the building. It gives access to a hallway that used to go right to the back of the house. This back entrance can easilly be reopened.

On the left the living room with fire place, a music room in one of the towers also with fire place and a small room behind the living room which might have been used at some point as bathroom.

On the right an office which connects to a formal dining room with fire place. Behind the dining room a room or anti-chambre that was used as a bedroom with behind a small former chapel. The kitchen is also on this side of the house, in the right tower and of course it needs total refurbishment. From the kitchen stairs lead to the first floor.

On the first floor you arrive on a little landing with access to two rooms, one on which could be turned into a bathroom. Again one of these rooms has a little tower room, for prayer or for washing, it isn't quite clear.

From te landing also access to a large room under the rafter with a stunning monumental oak ceiling. This room which is 71m2 could become a great second living room or library. It would be a shame to seperate it into smaller rooms but yuu could of course.

Of this big space another room in the tower with impressie ceiling again and a small alcove that could be used for a toilet.

The house has several cellars, two small vaulted ones and a big one with oak beamed ceiling. The big one could be turned into a great space for wine tasting.

In front of the house a terrace and beyond the large garden or field. On the left of this field the farmhouse to renovate. It needs a new roof to be saved but this building in itself could be turned into a stunnning house.

At the back a stream or moat seperates the house from the back garden. You can access the back by the side of the house but really the house needs a little bridge from the back door to the garden. This used to be there but it has disappeared.

This property truly has the elements of a castle but on a very human scale. It is a castle the size of a big house. Its history would be very interesting to retrace and renovating this property and discovering its secrets a true pleasure.

A true adventure and rare property.

The roof of the manor is done and the house is solid.
